Matched HVAC Systems

A matched system is a combination of a given outdoor unit, indoor unit, and/or furnace. For instance, an American Standard air conditioner, furnace and air handlers are all designed to work together in terms of capacity, efficiency and performance. A Degree Above analyzes each customer’s unique needs and requirements and will recommend components that deliver the best results.

Below you can click to read a brief explanation of the comprehensive line of American Standard equipment we install.

Air Conditioners

American Standard home air conditioning units are a, durable, energy-efficient solution for keeping your family comfortable on even the hottest days of the year.

Central air you can count on

From the high-end Platinum series to the durable units in the Silver series, no matter which American Standard AC unit you choose, remember that you’re getting central air you can count on. When you choose American Standard, you get engineering and craftsmanship paired with higher quality air and comfort.

Meeting and exceeding SEER standards

SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) Standards are like the miles per gallon in a car. Most American Standard air conditioning units satisfy or exceed the minimum government SEER standards. This means more comfort for your family and greater energy savings for you.

Depending on the model selected, American Standard Air Conditioners feature:

  • AccuComfort ™ variable-speed technology provides a wider operating range that works smarter to lower operating costs, allowing the system to remain operating when the competition’s products are cycling on and off. Keeps temperatures consistent within a ½ degree in 1/10th of 1% increments.
  • Lower compressor modulation and fan speeds yield amazingly low sound levels–4dB below the nearest competitor minimum–and maximize the benefits of AccuClean ™ technology.
  • Get seamless comfort and reduced energy costs with Enhanced Humidity Control.
  • Built with quality materials, innovative features, and durable construction.

Coils

An indoor coil, or evaporator coil, is an essential part of a matched system. It is either installed with your furnace or as part of your air handler. Inside the coil, the refrigerant evaporates as it absorbs heat from the indoor air that passes over it. The coil essentially serves as a “heat exchanger,” working with your heating system in the winter and your cooling system in the summer.

Depending on the model selected, American Standard Coils feature:

  • 100% Foil-Backed Insulation that allows quieter operation and reduces time spent cleaning and servicing.
  • Painted Finish and Aluminum Tubes and Tube Sheets provides added durability and protection against rust and corrosion.
  • Two-Way, Non-Corrosive Drain Pan helps reduce standing water that could lead to mold growth, mildew and bacteria if left unchecked.

Air Handlers

A HVAC Air Handler Unit (AHU) can be paired with a heat pump or air conditioner in order to efficiently circulate warm or cool air throughout your house. Each and every HVAC air handler unit offered by American Standard is backed by quality craftsmanship. It doesn’t matter if you pick the top-of-the-line comfort of the ForeFront™ Platinum series, the balance of power and efficiency of the ForeFront Gold series, or opt for the solid value and rugged durability of a Silver Air Handler unit.

Depending on the model selected, American Standard Air Handlers feature:

  • Automatic communication and coordination with your other system components via the AccuLink™ Communicating System, while also allowing remote monitoring and programming by phone.
  • Unique cabinet design fully enclosed insulation allows less moisture and fewer dust particles to be drawn in from the garages, attics and crawl spaces– preventing energy loss and virtually eliminateing condensation.
  • Simplified Comfort Control connection, which enables faster, easier installation that is less invasive to your home.
  • Vortica™ Advanced airflow System and Variable-speed technology that improves airflow, allows quiet operation, reduces energy use, and helps keep temperatures even from room to room.
  • All-aluminum coil that enhances reliability and reduces the chance of refrigerant leaking into the atmosphere.

Gas & Oil Furnaces

American Standard home furnaces are designed to help keep your home warm and cozy during the colder seasons. Each furnace is built with efficiency and reliability in mind so that you and your family can enjoy consistent warmth and long-lasting comfort. However, selecting a gas or oil furnace isn’t a one-size-fits-all decision.

American standard knows that one residential furnace might not cover the needs of every customer. That’s why a variety of gas and oil furnaces are available to choose from.

Safe and Simple

The furnaces offered by American Standard offer reliable comfort and are, most importantly, safe and simple when it comes to operation. Furnaces come with hot surface igniters which means the burners start electronically. No fuel-burning pilot lights. Multi-port in-shot burners are also employed to make sure you’re getting the maximum heat while using the least amount of fuel.

Pick the Right Furnace

It can be difficult knowing which residential furnace model is right for you. Do you go with the best of the best and go Platinum or do you go with the solid and durable Silver series? Let American Standard help you make that choice. Get in touch with Cornerstone and learn the benefits of oil and natural gas furnaces.

Depending on the model selected, American Standard Air Furnaces feature:

  • Automatic communication and coordination with your other system components via the AccuLink™ Communicating System
  • Reduction of temperature swings and lower heating bills with two-stage heating, running at an energy-saving 65-percent capacity more than 80 percent of the time.
  • Simplified connection to the Comfort Control enables faster, easier installation that is less invasive to your home.
  • Efficiency that significantly surpasses government standards, helping you save on your energy bills while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Heat Pumps

It’s a heater when it’s cold outside and an air conditioner when things get hot – the American Standard heat pump is one versatile product. In addition to its flexibility, many of these heat pumps are also energy-efficient. That means you can enjoy a comfortable home and have some peace of mind when it comes to saving energy.

Pair a heat pump with a furnace

One of the best ways to improve HVAC heat pump efficiency is to pair a heat pump with a furnace. Furnaces help by spreading even heating from room to room. Combine that with a durable American Standard heat pump and you’ve got a hybrid system that keeps your family comfortable and, potentially, saves you energy.

Durable, Quiet, and Long-Lasting Comfort

Quiet operation and customizable heating and humidity controls make the American Standard heat pumps an ideal choice for your home. Don’t let winter weather and summer scorchers sneak up on you and your family. Invest in a heat pump and enjoy year-long comfort today.

  • Lower compressor modulation and fan speeds yield amazingly low sound levels–4dB below the nearest competitor minimum–and maximize the benefits of AccuClean ™ technology.
